San Francisco got one of those runs back in the bottom of the second. Barry Bonds doubled down the left field line, and Pedro Feliz hit a single right back up the middle. With runners on first and third and no out, AJ Pierzynski grounded into a double play, scoring Bonds.
In the top of the fourth, Pat Burrell led off with a single. With one out in the middle of an at bat facing David Bell, Williams had to be taken out of the game due to an injury. Wayne Franklin came in but he had trouble getting anyone out. He gave up a hit to Bell, and another single to Chase Utley. After striking out Kevin Millwood, Franklin gave up a bases clearing triple.
The bottom of that same inning, the Giants tacked on another run again by a double play. With the bases loaded and no out, Pedro Feliz tapped one up the middle, just not hit quite hard enough.
With one out, Thome singled sharply in the top of the fifth. Burrell then singled to left field, and Lieberthal singled too to score Thome. After an intentional walk to Bell, Utley singled. To cap off the three run rally, Millwood got a bunt single off Tyler Walker to score Burrell.
The Phillies would add two more runs in the top of the eighth. With two already out, Rollins singled and then Abreu walked. Shawn Wooten singled to score Rollins, and Burrell singled to score Abreu.
The Giants would score twice more, once in the seventh, off a Pedro Feliz homer, and once in the ninth, when pinch hitter Edgardo Alfonzo hit a infield single to score Pierzynksi from third.
Player of the Game: Jim Brower and Tyler Walker. The two have been clutch for the Giants when they needed good outings from the pen, and the two threw 3.2 scoreless innings. Props.
