Norwich (AA): Portland 4, Norwich 2
The Navigators fell behind early and couldnt keep up in a 4-2 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs. Navigator starter Alfredo Simon gave up 3 runs on 9 hits in 5 innings, but didnt walk anyone. It was enough to earn him the loss, though. Two solo home runs, one by first baseman Tyler Von Schell and one by DH Julian Benavidez powered the offense.

The Giant offense was unable to keep up with their pitching in a 9-4 loss to Visalia. Starter Garrett Broshius gave up 4 runs in 4 innings, and Brooks McNiven gave up 3 runs on 4 hits without recording an out. Offensively, catcher Eliezer Alfonzo, an All-Star in the Florida State league last year, had a solo homer and a double for 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Nate Schierholtz went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, and scored a run as well.

The Riverdogs found their bats against Augusta reliever Caleb Salankey, scoring 5 runs against him (3 earned) to defeat the Greenjackets 5-2 in their first game as a Giant affiliate. Salankey gave up 4 hits and 2 walks in 2.1 innings in relief of starter Mike Musgrave. The Greenjacket offense was led by third baseman Simon Klink, who had a solo home run, and shortstop Marcus Sanders, who went 2 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.
