Game Recap:
Brad Hennessey had a great day both on the mound and at the plate in Thursday’s 4-1 victory. Hennessey threw 7.2 innings, gave up 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk with 7 strikeouts. In addition to that, he went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. That was all he needed, but he got a little extra help. Mickey Lopez went 2 for 4 with an RBI and got another one on a solo home run by Julio Ramirez. Al Levine picked up the save, throwing the final 1.1 innings with 3 strikeouts and 1 hit.

Game Recap:
Merkin Valdez wasn’t perfect, but he pitched 5 scoreless innings to help lead Norwich to a 7-2 win. Valdez gave up 7 hits in 5 innings, including 3 in the first inning, but escaped jams in the first and third innings. Billy Sadler pitched in 3 scoreless innings in relief without giving up a hit to help seal the game. The offense was led by Carlos Valderrama, who went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Daniel Ortmeier pitching in a 2 for 4 day with an RBI and run scored, and Julio Cordido went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI.

Jesse Floyd and Eugene Espineli combined for a 3 hit shutout over Lancaster. Floyd pitched the first 6 innings, giving up the only 3 hits the JetHawks would get, plus 3 walks while striking out 1. Espineli pitched the final 3 innings to get the save, giving up no hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Shortstop Angel Chavez was the key to the offense, picking up all 3 RBIs, each one in a different inning. Chavez singled in Bowker in the first, hit a groundout RBI scoring Kevin Frandsen in the 3rd, and a solo home run in the 8th.

Roger Whitaker (sometimes also known as Craig), went 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts to get his first win of the year. Simon Klink and Brian Horwitz keyed the offense. Klink went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Horwitz went 4 for 5 with 2 RBI.
