Minor League Notebook - May 17th, 2005

Game for free! A couple of the minor league clubs face extra innings. Some had heroics, some had...well, not-so-heroics. Just another day in the minors!

Fresno Grizzlies (AAA): Fresno 11, Oklahoma 10 (12 innings)
WP: B. Villafuerte (1-0, 4.50)
LP: J. Veras (0-2, 4.24)
Game Recap:
The Redhawks figured that pitching to recently slumping Brian Dallimore was the right idea, but it backfired. The Redbirds walked Mickey Lopez intentionally after a Doug Clark two out double in the 12th inning to face Dallimore, but Dallimore responded with a single to score the game winning run. Starter Jesse Foppert gave up 6 runs, 3 earned, in 6.1 innings, and was victimized by a throwing error by the Dallimore in the 4th that extended a difficult inning for Foppert. The game also saw Todd Linden break out of a minor slump, going 3 for 5, falling only a single short of a cycle and getting 3 RBI.
