Minor League Notebook: June 3rd, 2005

Matt Cain went through a rough spot, and Todd Linden went for an 0-fer, but that's not enough to sink the Grizzlies. Meanwhile, there was more offense in San Jose, and Marcus Sanders still going wild in Augusta. Just another day in the Minors.

Fresno Grizzlies (AAA): Fresno 14, Tuscon 6
WP: K. Correia (1-2, 7.01)
LP: P. Stockman (1-1, 6.44)
A big time Fresno comeback without two of their top stars performing gave the Grizzlies a much needed win over Tucson. Star pitcher Matt Cain struggled, giving up 6 runs, 5 earned, in only 4 innings. Meanwhile, slugger Todd Linden had an offday, going 0 for 5, though he did manage an RBI on a groundout. Luckily, others stepped up. Kevin Correia, who has been struggling lately, pitched two scoreless innings to shut down the Sidewinders and get the win. Doug Clark, meanwhile, came in for a pinch hit grand slam in the 8th inning, part of a 7 run rally that saw Fresno win the game by quite a bit.
