Who is this Matt Kinney guy, and what the heck has he done to his stuff? Kinney throws another gem with Fresno. Meanwhile, Stockton gets some revenge on San Jose, and the Rookie team runs wild (literally)! Just another day in the minors!

Matt Kinney is finding his form for the Grizzlies. Kinney went 7 shutout innings for Fresno, giving up just 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 10. R.D. Spiehs finished the last two innings, allowing just 1 hit, to get the shutout. Jason Ellison scored 2 runs for the Grizzlies, going 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.

Norwich’s offense was stymied all night long, and Chris Begg held off the Fisher Cats as long as he could. Begg went 7.1 innings, giving up 1 run in the 7th and the last 3 in the 8th before being lifted, but Norwich only managed 4 hits on the night.

San Jose was held to only 6 hits by the Ports on Wednesday. Starter Ryan Sadowski gave up 5 runs in 4.1 innings to take the loss. Pat Dobson went 2 for 4 with a double and run scored in the leadoff spot.
