Minor League Notebook: June 12th

Fresno takes on a major league rehabbing pitcher who makes more money than the entire Fresno roster, and what happens? Well, let's just say that Fresno hitters weren't a problem in this game. And then....uh...what? No one else played? But there were some All-Stars announced! Just Another (One Game) Day in the Minors!

Fresno Grizzlies (AAA) - Fresno 6, Salt Lake 5

LF Fred Lewis - 1-4, 1 R, 1 HR (5), 1 RBI, .276
1B Chad Santos - 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B (12), 1 HR (10), 3 RBI, 1 SO, .251
CF Dan Ortmeier - 1-3, 1 R, 1 HR (4), 1 RBI, 1 HBP, .255
3B Kevin Frandsen - 1-3, 1 R, 1 SO, 1 S, .321
RF Todd Linden - 0-4, 1 SO, .241
SP Michael Tejera - 6.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 1 SO, 1 HR, 3.32; W, 4-3
RP Carlos Hines - 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 SO, 2.81; H, 3
RP Jack Taschner - 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 SO, 2.53; S, 6

Tejera got the win, despite his worst start of the season, giving back leads twice the half inning after the Grizzlies got them. But rehabbing Major Leaguer Bartolo Colon was worse, and he gave up two two-out doubles to Santos and Shabala, each knocking in a run, to finally give Fresno enough to win. Lewis led the game off with a home run, and Santos and Ortmeier both went deep in the 4th.

Notes: Fresno is 27-37, and are 12.5 games back of first place Tucson.

Connecticut Defenders (AA) - No Game Scheduled

San Jose Giants (High-A) - No Game Scheduled

Notes: 4 San Jose Giants were named to the California League All-Star team, which will take on the Carolina League at the break. Nick Pereira, Alexander Hinshaw, Justin Hedrick and Brian Anderson will anchor the pitching staff of the All-Star team. The 4 players are the most for any team in the league.

Augusta GreenJackets (Low-A) - Postponed due to Rain.

Notes: No makeup date has been announced.
