One terrible pitching inning wasn't enough to lose this game for the Volcanoes. S-K stole 5 bases en route to 3 runs through the 6th inning, although Burris also hurt a rally by being picked off and caught stealing on one play in the 5th. But after Oseguera let Boise tie the game at 3 in the 6th, it was a home run by Witter that gave the Volcanoes the 5-3 lead they needed in the 9th.

Notes: Salem-Keizer is 25-13, and maintained their 2 game lead over Vancouver for first place in the West division. Boise is currently in first place in the East division, with the same record as Vancouver.

RP David Newton - 2.0 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 SO, 2.19; BS, 2; L, 2-1

The rookies blew the lead late in this one, and then just got blown away in the 10th. Foeman gave up a single and walk to lead off the 9th with a 2 run lead, and then Newton came in and walked one to load the bases. He walked in a run, and then gave up a 2 RBI single that tied the game. In the 10th, three errors occured. An error to lead off the inning let a runner to get to second, and then a ground out got him to third. An intentional walk later, a single scored one, and an error let the runners move to second and third. After another intentional walk, a 2 out error by Schoop allowed 2 more runs to come in and blow this one open.

Notes: The AZL Giants are 1-1, and are tied for 3rd with 4 other teams a half game back of the Royal (2-0) and the Padres (1-0).
