My bad feeling is seeing Aviles batting 2nd, not only batting second but against a RHP!!! Geezus Francona must have had short-term memory loss as to the horrible results when he stubbornly kept doing that a week ago. OMG Francona how can you sometimes seem so dense!
Bad feeling is Kluber not nearly as sharp today. Looks like how he was in his first outings after his great pitcher of the month month. His command has been horrible with 3 walks and a hit batter and now giving up a freaking 2-RBI double to a freaking sub-.250 hitter after walking a rookie on 4 pitches. We are in big trouble as our offense has stunk today.
Easy Hawaii...plouffe may be hitting .242 but both he and Mauer have had good success against Kluber in the past. The surprise outlier today is that Vargas seems to love kluber's fastballs. Better not give vargas another kluber heater tonight
Saw the replay of the long single by Santana where he was thrown out at second. Close play, and if he had gotten any loft on the ball it would have been a homer, the RF was pretty much playing on the warning track that allowed him to throw Santana out. The thing that frustrated me was that Brantley was already near 3B by the time the ball was coming in, the 3B coach should have seen that and sent Brantley home, especially with two outs.

With Perkins coming in for the 9th, this game is essentially over.
The trouble with the call is not that it didn't tick the strike zone (FX said it likely did) but that it was virtually identical to other pitches in the count called balls. I don't blame Brantley for being upset, but any lineup that trots out a .278 OBP in front of our two best hitters deserves the offense it gets.
