Rangers Winterball Roundup – 11/28

Sidearming right-hander Johan Yan has worked as something of a righty specialist for his winterball club in the Dominican Republic this offseason, and he tossed another scoreless appearance on Wednesday. Arizona Fall League: Surprise – Season Over

The Saguaros didn't qualify for this year's Arizona Fall League Championship Game after finishing second place in the AFL's West Valley Division.

The following Rangers prospects saw action for Surprise this fall––RHP Ben Henry, LHP Jimmy Reyes, RHP Ryan Rodebaugh, RHP Ben Rowen, RHP Joe Van Meter, C Kellin Deglan, C/1B Brett Nicholas, INF Hanser Alberto, 1B Chris McGuiness, and INF Luis Sardinas.

Dominican Winter League

Getting the start at third base for Cibao, speedy switch-hitter Leury Garcia whiffed three times in four hitless at-bats, dropping his batting average to .300.

Licey centerfielder Leonys Martin saw his average dip to .258 after he went without a hit in four trips.

Aguilas Cibaenas reliever Johan Yan worked one-third of an inning without allowing a run. He gave up a single and recorded a strikeout.

Venezuelan Winter League

Lara's Guilder Rodriguez appeared as a late-inning defensive replacement in the corner outfield and grounded out in his only plate appearance.

Juan Apodaca, who got the start behind the plate for Zulia, was 0-for-3 with an RBI and two strikeouts.

Mexican Pacific League

Algodoneros de Guasave catcher Jose Felix, who batted ninth on Wednesday, was 0-for-3 at the plate.

Puerto Rican Winter League

Ponce catcher Jorge Alfaro singled once in four at-bats while left fielder Mike Bianucci was hitless in four trips, walking once.

On the mound for the Leones, right-hander Alex de la Cruz worked 1.1 scoreless innings. The Puerto Rico native gave up a hit and struck out two. Dominican righty Anyelo Leclerc yielded two runs on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Caguas second baseman Janluis Castro remained without a hit in his young winterball campaign after going 0-for-2 with two strikeouts and a walk.

Australian Baseball League

As usual, the Australian Baseball League is taking the midweek off before returning to action on the weekend.
