Indians and Tigers rained out on Thursday

Comerica Park was deemed unplayable on Thursday afternoon with a steady downpour of rain. The Indians and Tigers will make up the contest on Monday if necessary.

A forecast of heavy rain spelled the end to a game that did not even start.

The Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers were postponed in the finale game of their four-game series on Thursday afternoon. If necessary, the teams will make up the contest next Monday at a time to be determined.

Ryan Merritt's first career major league start was put on hold until Friday after a large batch of rain found its way to Detroit, Michigan. In addition to Merritt, Adam Plutko will have to wait until Saturday for his first start.

Up next for the Tribe is the last three-game series of the year in the form of a matchup with the Kansas City Royals. Friday's first pitch is slated for 8:15 PM from Kauffman Stadium.
