Amazingly, we are celebrating our 10th Christmas here at Indians Baseball Insider. My how time flies.
The evolution of this place from a small one-man blog to a full blown website with real reporters and many cogs to the machine has been fascinating to watch over the last ten years. Even with all of the changes and with many contributors coming and going and with new people coming on board, I still believe at the core we are the best place on the web for insight and information on the Cleveland Indians from the lowest levels of the minors to the big leagues.
I say this every year, and will say it again because it is so true, but while at times you may disagree with some things we write or dislike some things about the Indians organization, the bottom line is you read this site and follow the Indians because they are YOUR team and you are fans. This site would not be possible without the dedication and support of any of you as well as the assistance and help the Cleveland Indians themselves provide all year long.
This year the Indians left a big present under all of your Christmas trees in the form of Edwin Encarnacion. It just continues the high the fans have been on since the amazing postseason run that saw the Indians go all the way to Game 7 of the World Series. It is a great time to be an Indians fan with the management in place putting the team together, the manager and coaching staff in place running things, and a very talented roster loaded with young budding superstars and many All Star caliber players. The Indians will go into the 2017 season with as complete a team as I can ever remember, including those 90s teams, which is what makes this such an exciting time to be a fan. And for a father like me with a young son getting into his teen years, it is all the sweeter to always have that one bond: baseball.
Thank you for your continued support and on behalf of the entire IBI staff I want to wish all the fans, players, families of the players, and Indians coaches and executives a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
