Cleveland Indians promote Brian Barren to president of business operations

After 24 years at Proctor & Gamble and four years with the Cleveland Indians, Brian Barren was announced as the club's new president of business operations on Monday morning.

A position in the business operations department has been filled with a deserving name.

The Cleveland Indians announced the promotion of Brian Barren as the organization's newest president of business operations on Monday morning. Previously, Barren spent 24 years at Procter & Gamble and four years as the Executive Vice president of Sales and Marketing with the Tribe.

“I have worked closely with Brian during his time with us and am confident his leadership will guide our business operation in a very positive direction,” said owner Paul Dolan.

Barren was the leader for numerous business teams for many of P&G's brands and partnerships including Wal-Mart and Kroger. His resume landed him a job with the Indians in January of 2014.

Barren's new role entails an oversight of the business operations of the franchise.

“Under his leadership to date we have experienced strong growth and capability building to ensure our success is as sustainable as possible,” Dolan said.
