· The ageless Bartolo Colon is the gift that keeps on giving. The 43-year old is looking to start a new chapter in his 19-year career with the Atlanta Braves, and with his old GM from the Cleveland Indians, John Hart. He won’t be used at the top of the rotation, but he will be an innings eater and a voice for the younger pitching prospects. However, that could change mid-season. He is only 13 wins away from surpassing former Tribe righty Dennis Martinez for wins by a Latin American pitcher. Colon has 233, while El Presidente has 245. Colon told his late mother that he wants to pitch until he’s 45, and it looks like he’s heading down that path, only this year, it’s with the Braves. In 34 games last season with the New York Mets, the four-time All-Star went 15-8 with a 3.43 ERA. He finished with 128 K and only 32 BB.

· Steven Wine of the Associated Press reports that the deal Miami Marlins owner Jeff Loria had in place with a New York-based real estate developer could be in jeopardy. This is due to Loria being named as a candidate to be the ambassador of France. The New York company said they will not agree to the buyout if he goes through with the appointing process.
