Indians receive ALCS rings prior to home opener

The Cleveland Indians players, coaches and training staff were awarded their 2016 American League Championship rings prior to Tuesday's home opener at Progressive Field.

CLEVELAND -- The highly anticipated distribution of ALCS rings took place in front of a sold out crowd at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario on Tuesday late afternoon.

As shown above, each detail of the ring represents a different aspect of a 2016 Indians team that came within one win of conquering their first World Series title since 1948.

Special features

- There are 94 diamonds on the front of the ring (top left), each representing a different regular season victory.

- The five rubies and one diamond on the side of the ring (bottom left) signify the franchise's six American League Championships.

- Progressive Field is represented (top right) through the three light towers and scoreboard.

- The city of Cleveland and its fans are represented (bottom right) with the #RallyTogether slogan.
