Series Preview 4/17-4/20: Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins

The Indians and Twins have fallen back to Earth after starting the 2017 season strong with a pair of convincing sweeps over Texas and Kansas City. The IBI's John Alfes breaks down another AL Central clash ahead of Monday's first pitch...

The Cleveland Indians (5-7) and Minnesota Twins (7-5) open a four-game set as they enter the middle stages of April. The Tribe is coming off their first losing homestand (2-4) since July 4-10 in 2016 and has lost seven of their last nine contests. After winning four consecutive games to commence the campaign, manager Paul Molitor and the Twins have hit a rough patch and fallen to second place in the division by losing their last two series against the Detroit Tigers (1-2) and Chicago White Sox (1-2). Cleveland held the advantage in the 2016 season series (10-9) despite losing four of its first six battles over the course of April and May.
