Series Preview 4/25-4/27: Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros

The Indians return home for their second homestand of the year, a six-game set beginning with the Astros on Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. ET. The IBI's John Alfes previews an AL Central vs. AL West clash...

Matchup

The Cleveland Indians (10-8) and Houston Astros (13-6) open a three-game series after collectively taking the day off on Monday. Both teams have won four of their last five contests and figure to be in the mix for a spot in the postseason. The Tribe went 2-4 in their last homestand, their first losing homestand since finishing 3-4 from July 4-10 in 2016. Despite the early troubles, manager Terry Francona and company won their first five games against the Twins and White Sox this past road trip to move into a first-place tie with Detroit (10-8). The fully healthy squad will face off against a renovated roster that includes the likes of Carlos Beltran, Josh Reddick and Brian McCann.
