Abraham Almonte and Yan Gomes exit on Wednesday

Abraham Almonte (right shoulder) and Yan Gomes (illness) departed within one inning of each other during Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

A decimated outfield can ill-afford to lose another member with Austin Jackson (hyperextended left big toe) on the 10-day disabled list, Michael Brantley (right ankle sprain) listed as day-to-day and Tyler Naquin (lower back tightness) on the seven-day minor league disabled list.

Abraham Almonte may be the next name to join the growing list of injured outfielders.

The 27-year-old left Wednesday's contest with a right shoulder injury after flying out to right field in the top of the second inning. Terry Francona jogged out to chat with Almonte as he grabbed his glove to play defense before a final decision to take him out of the game was made.

In addition, Yan Gomes exited due to illness in the home half of the third despite torching a double to right-center field as part of a five-run frame.

Michael Martinez took over in center field while Roberto Perez replaced Gomes behind the dish.

Expect updates on both players following the ballgame.
