Carlos Carrasco and Abraham Almonte exit with injuries

A pair of injuries spelled an abrupt end to the night for Carlos Carrasco (left pectoral tightness) and Abraham Almonte (right biceps strain) on Monday.

CLEVELAND – The Indians have made a number of roster transactions over the last two days due to injuries.

More moves may be on the way.

Carlos Carrasco hit the showers earlier than anticipated on Friday as he tossed 75 pitches in 3.2 innings of five-run ball before suffering from left pectoral tightness. Moments later, Daniel Robertson took the spot of Abraham Almonte in right field due to his re-aggravated right biceps strain.

The 30-year-old right-hander surrendered at least one score in each of his frames of work with two wild pitches to boot. His gradual decline in velocity called for a mound visit from manager Terry Francona and the team’s trainer…

Almonte tripled and struck out in his only two at-bats on the evening. The versatile outfielder injured his biceps on Wednesday in Toronto before returning to the lineup just three days later.

Expect updates on both players following the game.
