2017 Cleveland Indians 26th Round Draft Pick: Tommy DeJuneas, RHP from North Carolina State University

In the 26th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, the Cleveland Indians have selected right-handed pitcher Tommy DeJuneas with the 792nd overall pick.

At pick 792 in the 26th round, the Cleveland Indians have selected right-handed pitcher Tommy DeJuneas out of North Carolina State University.

Born: 10/24/95 — Height: 6'1" — Weight: 180 — Bats: Right — Throws: Right

Jeff Ellis: Tommy DeJuneas is a player who regressed during his years at NC State. He was not alone among other Wolfpack players to decline. He was a two-way guy who did get a few rips every year at the plate, but never got a long look. He has been almost entirely a relief pitcher during his career, but has never matched the success of his freshman year. His strikeout rate has plummeted from elite to average. His walk rate has never been good at the collegiate level. He is undersized and while the stuff has been good, he has been unable to command any of it consistently.

Press Release: Went 4-0 with a 4.22 ERA in 15 appearances (2 starts) for the Wolfpack in 2017…pitched 2.0-or-more innings in six of his 13 relief appearances, striking out 27 batters in 32.0 innings.
