|Wedge won't be back|

Eric Wedge Profile
The Mariners have announced that Manager Eric Wedge informed them earlier today the he chose not to return for the 2014 season.
Seattle's lack of commitment to the club's skipper of the last three seasons seemed to already write this story, and Wedge's comments to the media before yesterday's game and lack of public backing since the announcement of Jack Zduriencik's extension seemed to suggest that the Mariners were thinking of cutting ties with the former big league catcher and Cleveland manager regardless.
Wedge said, "we shouldn't be in this situation," during those comments yesterday, speaking of how his status was, "hanging out there." On the surface it does appear to be another in a string of puzzling non-committals and quiet "no comments" from the Mariners.
Wedge will remain on to manage the last three games of the season as Seattle closes out against the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics.
