AquaSox to begin season at home on Wed., June 18

It's that time of year again. The Everett AquaSox, filled with young talented stars such as 2002 second-round draft pick Josh Womack and 2002 fourth-rounder Sam Hays, begin their season at Everett Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.

The Everett AquaSox first homestand of the 2003 season begins Wednesday, June 18, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Each game of the three-game series against the Vancouver Canadians will feature 7 p.m. start times. The gates will open at 6 p.m. Seats remain for all three games.

Here are the promotions for the opening homestand:

June 18 - Opening Night! Magnet Schedules for the 2,500 fans through the gates (Cascade Rehabilitation Associates and Summit Rehabilitation) The first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Mariners Notebook (Seattle Mariners). KRKO 1380 AM's "The Fish" will broadcast his show by live remote at the game, and it's also the first Wells Fargo Hit a Home Run in School night. Local school kids who participated in the reading program received free tickets to an AquaSox game for reaching their reading goals. (Wells Fargo, Ivar's).

June 19 - Mariners Notebooks for the first 1,000 kids ages 12 and under (Seattle Mariners) More school kids who participated in the Wells Fargo Hit a Home Run in School program will see an AquaSox game free, courtesy of Wells Fargo and the AquaSox.

June 20 - Post-game Fireworks! (Tulalip Casino). The first 1,000 kids ages 12 and under will receive a Mariners Notebook (Seattle Mariners). It's also Strikeout ALS Night and another Wells Fargo Hit a Home Run in School night (Wells Fargo, Verizon SuperPages).
