HWB - Waikiki Beach Boys
Oct. 24th: Waikiki 9, Honolulu 8
Schierholtz continued his slump-busting that he started on Sunday on Tuesday, with his second 2 for 4 day, adding a double, a walk and a stolen base to his totals. Schierholtz walked in the 3rd, stole second and then scored. Schierholtz then doubled in the 5th to knock in a run and close the BeachBoys deficit to 7-6, and it was later tied. Schierholtz also singled to lead off the 7th and eventually score the tying run at 8-8.
Minicozzi single ahead of Schierholtz in the 3rd to be a part of that rally, and also was hit by a pitch ahead of Schierholtz in the 5th.
Hinshaw came in in the 5th inning, and got two strikeouts in a perfect 5th. But in the 6th, he gave up a one out single, a ground rule double, and a groundout to allow a run, giving the Sharks a temporary 8-7 lead.
Oct. 23rd: Waikiki 7, Honolulu 1
3B Mark Minicozzi - 2-5, 1 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 SO, .292
DH Nate Schierholtz - 3-5, 1 R, 1 2B (4), 1 HR (2), 1 RBI, 1 SO, .245

RP Brian Anderson - 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 SO, 2.45
Schierholtz stayed hot, and got his 2nd home run of the HWB season to show for it. It was just a solo shot in the 5th, but it still helped reinforce his comeback from a poor week last week. Schierholtz also doubled in the 9th and singled in the 6th.
Minicozzi kept his consistent offensive performance going himself with a 2 for 5 day, picking up a run scored and an RBI of his own.
Quinowski and Anderson had relatively uneventful outings in the 7th and 8th innings, respectively.
AFL - Scottsdale Scorpions
Oct. 24th: Scottsdale 12, Peoria 6
LF Fred Lewis - 2-2, 2 R, 1 3B (2), 1 HR (1), 3 RBI, 1 HBP, .364
The return of Fred Lewis to action was the big news in this one. Lewis went 2 for 2 in 3 at bats, hitting a double and a home run to get back on a role in the desert. The left fielder was also hit by a pitch in the second, but stayed in the game until the 5th inning.
Oct. 25th: Scottsdale 7, Mesa 5
SS Kevin Frandsen - 3-3, 2 R, 2 HR (2), 4 RBI, 1 CS (2), 1 HBP, .406
PH-DH Fred Lewis - 0-2, 1 BB, 1 SO, .293
RP Pat Misch - 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO, 4.76
RP Billy Sadler - 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO, 0.00; W, 1-0
Frandsen stole the show in this one, despite the first win for Billy Sadler. Frandsen's home runs both came late, a 3 run shot in the 7th inning to tie the game, and then a solo shot in the 9th with two out to give Scottsdale a 6-5 lead. Sadler worked the end of the 8th to be on hand for the win, then finished out his own game. Lewis pinch hit in the top of the 4th, and stayed in as DH.
Two Giants players were named to the first ever AFL Rising Stars showcase, to be played October 27th at Surprise Stadium in Surprise. Relief pitchers Patrick Misch and Billy Sadler will both be on the pitching staff for the East division team. The Showcase was scheduled for a World Series off-day, but rain ruined those plans.
