Sacramento 8, Tacoma 2
The River Cats salvaged the fourth and final game of the series with the Rainiers in Sacramento. The Cats got two runs in each of the first two innings off Tacoma starter Sean White and never looked back. The Rainiers now head to Las Vegas for four games with the 51s.
West Tenn was off on Monday, but heads to Huntsville tonight for a one-game playoff to determine the first-half champion. If the Jaxx win tonight, they will clinch a playoff spot. Matt Vines of the Jackson Sun has an article on the mindset of the team going into tonight's game.
High Desert 8, Lancaster 6
The Mavs continued a hot streak away from home, earning a fourth straight road victory at Lancaster. The game was put away early, with the Mavs scoring three runs in the second inning and two in the third and fourth innings. Kuo Hui Lo and Erick Monzon homered, and Anderson Garcia picked up the win.
Wisconsin is off until Thursday for the Midwest League all-star break. The Rattlers finished the first half of the season at 31-35, 9 ½ games behind Clinton, the first-half champs. Second baseman Edilio Colina, shortstop Juan Diaz, and pitcher Travis Mortimore will represent Wisconsin in the All-Star Game. Phillippe Aumont was also selected for the game but will not participate due to injury. Colina leads the Rattlers with 31 runs scored, 26 RBI, 60 hits, 15 doubles, a .297 batting average, and a .370 on-base percentage.
