Team adds Hunter Cervenka to roster, opts Tyler Bremer to New Orleans

The Miami Marlins have sent pitcher Hunter Cervenka to the Jacksonville Suns as part of three transactions to the team's roster

The Miami Marlins have announced that right-handed pitcher Tyler Bremer has been transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. Bremer, a 2016 Southern League Midseason All-Star, was 5-4 with a 3.08 ERA in 36 relief outings with Jacksonville.

Per reports coming out of Jacksonville, the Marlins have also announced that left-handed pitcher Hunter Cervenka has been optioned from Miami to Jacksonville. Cervenka has pitched in eight games in the majors for the Marlins, with no wins or losses and an 8.31 ERA in his four and a third innings of work. Cervenka was acquired by the Marlins in a trade from the Atlanta Braves earlier this month in exchange for Marlins minor leaguers Michael Mader and Anfernee Seymour.

The Marlins have also announced that infielder Danny Muno has been activated from Jacksonville’s temporary inactive list after he attended a wedding. Muno has going 3-for-15 in five games played for the Suns this month.

As it stands right now, the Suns are one player over the 25-man limit on the roster. Derek Dietrich is the additional player with the team, sent by the parent club to Jacksonville for a rehabilitation assignment. It is expected that Dietrich will rejoin the Marlins by Saturday.
