Marlins Go Deep In Mexico, Down Astros 6-1

The Florida Marlins continue to get masterful pitching performances and tremendous hitting as they took their winning ways to Mexico City to beat the Houston Astros 6-1.

Mexico City, Mexico

March 12, 2004
Houston pitcher Roger Clemens received the most enthusiastic reaction from the Mexico crowd when they chanted "Rocket! Rocket!" as he warmed up before the game.
Unfortunately for him, the Marlin hitters didn't give Clemens quite as warm a welcome as they got 2 runs off 7 hits, including a homerun by Miguel Cabrera, in his 3 innings of work. Cabrera went 3-4 on the day.
The Marlins also got homeruns from Jeff Conine, Hee Seop Choi, and Ramon Castro.
Pitcher Darren Oliver got the win for the game after pitching 4 innings and giving up only 1 run off a solo homerun by Jeff Kent.

The Marlins take on the Astros again tomorrow in Mexico City with first pitch set for 2:00 pm est.
