The New York Mets were victorious Sunday aftxrnoon in Cleveland Indians by the score of 6-0. All eyes were on starting pitcher Steven Matz making his second start of the season. Matz, last was pulled after 1 and 2/3 innings pitched allowing seven earned runs. Needless to say, there was room for improvement. Sunday afternoon, Matz really mixed up his pitches, whether it was the running fastball or the wicked twelve to six curve, Matz delivered in every aspect of his game. Going seven innings allowing three hits and walking two while striking out nine Indians.
The Mets pitching staff was on point as well. Hansel Robles pitched a perfect eighth inning while @Jerry Blevins and Addison Reed completed the shutout as the Mets finish up the series at which they showed improvements offensively with a strong 6-0 victory. Next up for the Mets, a rematch of the home series vs. the Phillies in Philadelphia where the Mets will look to show more improvement as they'll get another crack at the same three pitchers that gave them fits in the opening home series.
