Brinkley's Homer Lift 'Clones Past 'Cutters

Dante Brinkley's fifth inning two run home run ended up being the winning run as the Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Williamsport Crosscutters 4-3 Sunday afternoon.<br> <br> Designated hitter Tyler Davidson began the scoring with a two run single in the third inning, scoring center fielder Corey Coles, and catcher Danilo Reynoso.

One day after getting the game winning hit, first baseman Jim Burt continued the productive hitting adding a double, and two singles. Corey Coles singled twice, and scored two runs as well in the victory.

Cyclones starter Evan MacLane picked up his second victory of the season going 6 2-3 innings allowing 8 hits, 3 runs with only 1 being earned. MacLane struck out six without allowing a walk.

Celso Rondon pitched the final 2 1-3 innings allowing just one walk while striking out three, for his second save of the season.

The Cyclones (11-6) head to Falcon Park for a three game series with the Auburn Doubledays. Auburn (13-3) is on a nine game winning streak. Will Quaglieri (1-1 3.86) will take the mound for the Cyclones while Casey McKenzie (1-0 2.08) will try to extend Auburn's winning streak to 10 games. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
