Mets' Arizona Fall League Update

The Mesa Solar Sox scored a run off LHP Royce Ring in the bottom of the tenth inning Monday to defeat the Peoria Saguaros 4-3 to fall to 5-10 in the Arizona Fall League.

Ring (2-2) picked up his team leading fourth decision in the loss when an unearned run scored the game winning run. He gave up one hit and struck out two batters in 1 2/3 innings pitched Monday and opposing AFL batters are hitting .268 off of him so far. Leading the Saguaros in appearances with six, Ring has been the victim of four unearned runs in the early stages of the Arizona Fall League.

LF Wayne Lydon, batting leadoff for Peoria, went 1-4 with a walk, two strikeouts, and a stolen base. It was Lydon's fifth stolen base in the AFL which ties him for second in the league and he has not been caught stealing as of yet. Lydon, who is batting .240, has played in a team-high 12 games for the Saguaros.

2B Chase Lambin, batting eighth in the Peoria lineup, went 0-4 in the loss Monday to see his average dip down to .212 in eight games played for the Saguaros. Lambin is tied for second on the team in home runs with two and has driven in nine runners in his eight games.

C Joe Hietpas, hitting .381 (second on the team in average), had the day off as did 1B Brett Harper (.278, one RBI).
