PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The Mets sent seven more players back to the minor league complex on Wednesday, trimming the number of Major Leaguers in camp to 52.

From the 40-man roster, pitcher Bob Keppel and infielders Aarom Baldiris, Craig Brazell and Anderson Hernandez were optioned to minor league camp. Pitcher Joe Nelson, infielder Danny Garcia and catcher Andy Dominique were also re-assigned.

"These guys were just up here helping out," manager Willie Randolph said. "It'll be good for them to get their work in and get ready for their seasons at Double-A or Triple-A."

The Mets now have 17 non-roster invitees in Major League camp and 165 players in the minor league clubhouse.
