Lydon, who turns 24 in April, batted .271 with five home runs, 43 RBI and 65 stolen bases at Double-A Binghamton in 2004.

The switch-hitter has amassed 287 stolen bases in the minor leagues since beginning play professionally in 1999, including a total of 87 swipes in 2002 for Class-A Capital City. He appears on track to at least receive a September call-up this year.

The Mets now have 166 players in the minor league clubhouse.
