O's think they can land Cameron

Mike Cameron has come around on his move to right field, but there appears to be one legitimate opportunity for him to return to center field.

The Washington Post noted Tuesday that the Baltimore Orioles are convinced that they can acquire Cameron from the Mets for the right package, citing a baseball official.

According to the newspaper, the Orioles could use relievers John Parrish and Jorge Julio to obtain a centerfielder.

Cameron has been sidelined with tendinitis in his surgically repaired left wrist and missed Monday's season opener at Cincinnati, but could be available to play in New York's second game of the season Wednesday.

He played in six Grapefruit League games and batted .333.
