Cyclones score three early signees

The Brooklyn Cyclones have been assigned three of the Mets' signed picks from the 2005 MLB Draft, MLB.com reported Friday.

Wearing Cyclones blue and yellow this summer will be: 19th round pick Tim Grogan, a 21-year-old third baseman from Fort Wright, Ky..; 21st round selection Joseph Holden, a 21-year-old outfielder from Wantagh, N.Y.; and 28th rounder Greg Gonzalez, a 22-year-old outfielder from San Francisco.

Additionally, righthander Alexis Beras – a 37th round selection from Bayside, N.Y. who attended the University of Scranton (Pa.) - was assigned to Kingsport of the Appalachian League.
