Mets release Double-A outfielder Hall

The Mets released Double-A outfielder Victor Hall on Wednesday night.

Hall, 24, hit .207 with five home runs, 21 RBI and seven stolen bases in 64 games this season for Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League.

He did not play in Wednesday's 10-8 loss to New Britain, and had seen playing time sparingly in recent weeks – after July 11, Hall saw action in only two games, pinch-hitting on July 17 vs. Reading and pinch-running on Monday against New Britain.

With Lastings Milledge joining Jeff Duncan, Wayne Lydon and Bobby Malek as outfielders on the Binghamton roster, there seemed to be little room for the left-handed hitting Hall.

Hall was originally a 12th round selection of the Arizona Diamondbacks and played in their system through 2004, making it as high as Triple-A Tucson.
