Norfolk Tides
Triple-A International League

Saturday's scheduled Norfolk Tides game against the Richmond Braves was postponed due to rain.

It will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday at 2 P.M.

Notable: In his weekly Mets minor league roundup, the New York Daily News' Adam Rubin notes how Tides manager Tony Tijerina recently called Lastings Milledge in for a one-on-one meeting -- not to address any imperfections in Milledge's game, but simply to relay his satisfaction with the young centerfielder's maturity and play.

Binghamton Mets
Double-A Eastern League

Saturday's Binghamton Mets game against the Erie SeaWolves at NYSEG Stadium was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, Aug. 25.

The B-Mets are scheduled to wrap up their series with Erie on Sunday at 1:30. Miguel Perez (1-0, 2.12) will start for Binghamton against Erie's Humberto Sanchez (0-1, 1.69).

St. Lucie Mets
Single-A Florida State League

Saturday's St. Lucie Mets game against Palm Beach was suspended in the second inning with no score. The game will be continued on Monday, June 5 as part of a double header at Tradition Field.

Right-hander Alay Soler, pitching for St. Lucie, had set down the Cardinals around one hit through two innings, striking out one and walking one. The Mets were batting in the bottom of the second when rain halted play.

Hagerstown Suns
Single-A South Atlantic League

Hector Pellot homered, stroked two hits and drove in all four of Hagerstown's runs, but the Suns fell Saturday to visiting Lake County, 5-4.

The Suns put up a late charge in the ninth, plating one run against Captains hurler Dustin Roddy when Pellot stroked an RBI single, but Roddy struck out both Jonel Pacheco and Drew Butera to end the game.

Pellot had hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning off of Lake County reliever Mark Jecmen.

Notes: Jonathon Niese started for Hagerstown and walked five in three innings, but also struck out five. He scattered two runs and two hits. … Jim Wladyka was the losing pitcher for Hagerstown, taking his first decision of the year. Wladyka relieved Niese and threw two innings, allowing two runs (one earned). … Fernando Martinez went 1-for-3 and is batting .333.
