Triple-A International League
Jason Scobie allowed eight runs and nine hits in 1 2/3 innings Thursday as Toledo rolled to a 14-5 drubbing of Norfolk.
Ryan Ludwick led the Toledo offense by going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored, knocking Scobie (0-5) out in the second inning. Chris Basak homered and had three RBI for Norfolk in the loss.
Notes: Anderson Hernandez went 2-for-3 in his first Triple-A rehab game since joining the Tides. He had played two games with Class-A St. Lucie. … Ryan Cullen pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings of relief in his Triple-A debut, relieving Scobie. … According to the Virginian-Pilot, Jeriome Robertson and Chuck Smith have also joined Norfolk, while Evan MacLane, Orlando Roman and Cory Aldridge have been sent to Brooklyn in an on-paper roster move.
Double-A Eastern League
The B-Mets were rained out Thursday at Altoona. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader starting at 5:35 p.m. on Friday.
Alay Soler (1-0) is set to pitch Game 1 of the twinbill for Binghamton, searching for his second win at Double-A, opposing left-hander Josh Shortslef (4-0). Miguel Pinango (0-2) goes in the nightcap against former Mets farmhand Jason Roach (3-2).
St. Lucie Mets
Single-A Florida State League
The Mets had put up three runs in the top half of the inning, with run-scoring hits by Jamar Hill and Ryan Coultas, but gave it back in the bottom half. Muniz (2-1) allowed the first two batters to reach and was relieved by Cova, who allowed four run-scoring singles and a sacrifice fly.
Jamar Hill had three hits, a run scored and two RBI in the St. Lucie loss.
Notes: Five St. Lucie batters had two hits in the contest – Corey Coles, Ambiorix Concepcion, Mike Carp, Josh Petersen and Jesus Flores. … Sal Aguilar started for St. Lucie and allowed three runs (two earned) and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings, walking none and striking out six.
Single-A South Atlantic League
The Suns were rained out against the Lake County Captains Thursday in Hagerstown.
Hagerstown will make up the series at a later date. The Suns continue their homestand Friday, welcoming the Lakewood BlueClaws to town for a three-game series.
