On Saturday and Sunday, the St. Louis Cardinals made a series of five moves at three levels of their minor league system. They are as follows:

Onto disabled list: Outfielder Shane Robinson

Promoted from Springfield: Outfielder Jim Rapoport

Onto disabled list: Reliever Francisco Samuel

Promoted from Palm Beach: Reliever Casey Mulligan

Palm Beach

Activated from disabled list: Reliever Kevin Thomas

Following these moves, Springfield is still one player short.

Right-handed hitting outfielder Shane Robinson has been placed on Memphis' seven-day disabled list due to a separated shoulder. The 25-year-old, on the Cardinals 40-man roster, had been one of the Redbirds' hottest hitters with five hits and two RBI in his last three games before landing on the DL.

Jim Rapoport has been promoted from Double-A Springfield. For the Double-A Cardinals, the former Stanford product was hitting .321, third-highest in the Texas League, with two home runs and 12 RBI in 25 games.

Reliever Francisco Samuel's bad fortune continues as he has been placed on Springfield's seven-day DL due to a right forearm strain. The 23-year-old right-hander had just moved up from Palm Beach on Tuesday after making his 2010 debut on April 27. His earlier ailment was shoulder soreness.

After pitching effectively in 15 games with Springfield in 2009, reliever Casey Mulligan was returned to Palm Beach to start the 2010 season. The 22-year-old right-hander tossed 13 scoreless innings over 11 outings. He yielded just eight hits and four walks while fanning 25 Florida State League hitters.

Taking Mulligan's place on Palm Beach's roster is right-hander Kevin Thomas. He went on the seven-day DL on April 27 with an undisclosed ailment. The 23-year-old has yielded five earned runs in 6 1/3 innings over four FSL games for an ERA of 7.11. He last pitched on April 22.
