Cardinals 2012 AFL Interview: Seth Blair

Seth Blair is now pitching like was expected when the right-hander was taken 46th overall in 2010.

Seth Blair has been not only been pitching well in the Arizona Fall League, it is the best stretch of his professional career, which began when the right-hander was taken 46th overall in the 2010 draft.

The former Arizona State star has what one scout says are two plus pitches – a fastball that is consistently in the 92-94 mph range and can touch 95 or 96 and a curveball that is "so good that opposing batters could know it is coming and still be unable to hit it," insisted one coach. Blair also throws a slider and change up.

Though Blair still needs to show continued improvement in his walks, an adjustment in his motion, coming less from over the top, may be a positive contributor.

Brian Walton interviewed Blair in Arizona, where he discussed the above, his unusual 2012 finger surgery and more.
