The 23-year-old Ramsey won the fan "Final Vote" balloting sponsored by Bowman Baseball Cards for the final player on the East Division roster. In addition to joining the team, Ramsey has been penciled into the lineup, playing left field and leading off. Piscotty will be the designated hitter and bat sixth.
Coming into Friday, the two were ranked 10th and 11th in batting average in the top prospect league at .326 and .322, respectively. Piscotty is sixth in the AFL with six stolen bases while Ramsey is eighth in on-base percentage at .439, seventh in slugging at .543 and sixth in OPS at .982.
Here is the Fall Stars East Division lineup: Ramsey 7, Brian Goodwin (Was) 8, Kris Bryant (ChC) 5, C.J. Cron (LAA) 3, Taylor Lindsey (LAA) 4, Piscotty DH, Jorge Soler (ChC) 9, Peter O'Brien (NYY) 2, Addison Russell (Oak) 6. They will be facing West starting pitcher Alex Meyer (3.63 ERA).
Cron leads the AFL with a .400 average and Bryant is third at .389. In addition to the Cardinals pair, Goodwin also sports a .300-plus average at .304.
The East's starting pitcher will be Toronto's Aaron Sanchez. The 21-year-old right-hander sports a sharp 1.35 ERA through four outings.
The game will be televised on MLB Network and available on MLB.com as well with Paul Severino on the play-by-play and former Cardinals pitcher Joe Magrane on color. MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo will also join the booth during the evening. (If you'd rather watch the game here, I added the window to the broadcast below.)
I will be in the pressbox covering the game. Look for relevant tweets during the broadcast as well as Leonda Markee's daily AFL Notebook exclusively for subscribers to The Cardinal Nation.
I will be capping my annual AFL trek with an interview series with Salt River Rafters manager Mike Shildt as well as all seven St. Louis prospects competing in the AFL.
