How can Dan Uggla exist without showing off the guns? And if you haven't already don't forget to pick up your copy or The Citizens of Natstown Washington Baseball Annual or how else would you know who all these players are?
These are just some of the wonders of the wide world of Spring Training. Baseball is getting closer and closer and soon we will have games to watch. They won't count or matter past a few players near the bottom of the roster fighting for jobs, but they will be baseball games and that is more than we've had in a long time. It also means the real season is getting closer and closer and while this will be far from the last time I say this I want everything to go right for the Nationals in 2015. Not because they need it to because they will still be a good team if not everything goes right, but because it will be insane how good this team would be if all the breaks went their way. It's better to be lucky than good but it's even better to be lucky and good
On the note of everything going right for the Nationals having the rotation stay healthy is one of those things and this video of Max Scherzer throwing his first bullpen as a Nat is very exciting and an enticing preview of what's to come. Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post has the story on Stephen Strasburg keeping his offseason routine the same. When you lead the NL in strikeouts and have a strikeout rate and walk rate at historic levels keeping the routine the same sounds like a good idea to me.
Over on MASNSports.com Chris Johnson gives us an interview with one of Strasburg's rotation mates, and Gio Gonzalez is ready to get out there on the mound and show how good he can be fully healthy.
Some people are ready to criticize the Scherzer deal because it is big and long but Charlie at The Nationals Review is ready to explain inflation to them.
Until tomorrow Natstown...
