Harrisburg Senators outfielder Dee Haynes has been named the Eastern League's Player of the Week for the week ending June 19th. It is the third time this season that the 6'0", 205 lb. slugger has won the award, as he was also named the Player of the Week for the weeks ending May 22nd and May 29th. Haynes was also named the E.L. Player of the Month for May.
Haynes, a native of Columbus, Mississippi, had an excellent week for the Senators, batting .360 (9-for-25) with one triple, four home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored, a .480 on-base percentage and a .920 slugging percentage in seven games.
The 27-year old currently has a seven-game hitting streak and is hitting .367 with 11 homers and 37 RBI since joining the Senators on May 13th. Dee was acquired by the Washington Nationals in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals on May 4th, 2005.
