The first two games we are facing total garbage. HAVE to win those two and hopefully then get a win in game 3 or 4 and win this series. Past the half way point and time for these guys to put their abilities to work. No more talking about its still early. No more talk about how close we are. All that is fine and dandy but doesn't mean squat if you don't take advantage of the situation.
agreed. The TB series was a MAJOR disppointment. The pitching was terrible...everywhere. I could see some movement from within the organization soon regarding the pitching staff. From what I've seen of Norfolks lineup--no one has jumped out at me so far...and they are supposed to be a top hitting team, like Rochester. Yesterdays starter, Pettit was not good at all.
There is no reason why the Orioles can't win all 4 (though that is admittedly hard against any team)
Anything less than 3 out of 4 and it might be time to start discussing that Cruz trade, because the only reason to lose 2 or 3 of this series is because you simply don't have the mental desire to win.
The first two games of this series shouldn't even be competitive. They should be 10-1 blowouts. I'd even call 2-1 pitcher's duels a disappointment in games 1 and 2 and say it's further proof that Jim Presley is ineffective at assisting the hitters hit.
wow--and its kinda strange that I was bringing up the Reynolds-Davis comparisons today--and saying that Davis doesn't play 3rd and Reynolds does...though I'd never want to see him there again for us.....this should be interesting. If it keeps Flaherty on the bench, I'm all for it. (even tho he has hit more HR's in the past 24 hours than Davis.......ha)
