Keys' Hoes and Ward Clutch in Walk Off Win

L.J. Hoes and Brian Ward's clutch late hits propel the Keys to over .500 in the 2-1 win.

Brian Ward

On the walk off hit

"Felt good, felt good, my first and third at bat didn't go too well so I kind of just waited for a fastball right there and it gave me one."

On approach of at bat

"I had a couple guys tell me to watch his curve ball because usually he can throw it for a strike. So I just sat fastball the entire at bat he left it kind of up but I got on top of it and it worked out."

On team confidence getting back to over .500

"I think out of every team we have played they are the best so its good to get two wins from them."

On the bullpen

,P>"Kenny had every pitch on spotting it really good and throwing them for strikes."

On Moreau

"They battled on him you know I thought he had good stuff today but they pulled him pretty early because he had a high pitch count."

L.J. Hoes

On finally breaking through in the eighth to tie the game

"Yea, their pitcher did a great job. He kept the ball down and spotted up real well. He tried to keep us off balance with the slider, change up. They have a great pitching staff."

On team confidence getting over .500

"It is definitely big we were four games back now we won the first two and have a chance at a sweep or at least winning three of the four games. Brian [Ward] did a great job of coming through, Bobby [Stevens] did well coming off the bench and getting a big hit for us. It was a great team effort tonight the pitchers did well tonight holding them to one run."

Orlando Gomez

On Hoes

"The whole thing was that he was working out a lot trying to use his hands more. When he was hot he was using the whole field and I saw him tonight at the beginning of the game he was pulling everything. He was using that top hand riding over. We were lucky enough to get a base hit to right field on that. At least he was trying to go the other way."

On pitching

"Actually Moreau battled and threw a lot of pitches tonight. He went I think four innings and threw 80 some pitches and for me that's too many. I saw Moreland come in and do an outstanding job he pitched very well he used his change up and curveball located his fastball well and went after hitters and kept us in the game. [Chris] Petrini came in and did a nice job the same way he threw his change up he threw his fastball and located well."

On playing really well

"We playing well there is a lot of energy in the team and everyone is cheering for one another and when those things happen you are going to win some games. The team we have everybody is going to play and everyone can show what they can do."
