Insidetheos.com: Tell us what is going through you mind about being selected by the Orioles

Eric Wooten: It's every kid's dream when you grow up playing the sport and come to the point of being pro.

ITO: Were you surprised it was the Orioles that selected you? Had you and the Orioles talked much before the draft?

Wooten: I've been talking to them a little bit throughout the season. I didn't know but I had a feeling.

ITO: Do you have any idea what the Orioles organization or farm system is like?

Wooten: Just from word of mouth from my friends experiences but it's something you need to experience firsthand.

ITO: What type of pitches do you throw and at what speeds? What are your strengths and what do you need to work on the most?

Wooten I throw a fastball, curveball, slider and changeup. My fastball is anywhere from 86 to 90 mph. Strengths-I'm passionate about the game and a hard worker. What I have to work on will be getting through the system on my own.

ITO: Did you have a favorite player growing up or a favorite team?

Wooten: I like the Rockies since I'm from Colorado but I didn't really have a favorite player.

ITO: What would you say is your best moment in baseball and why?

Wooten: During the World Series this past week and I got the win. It's a pretty good feeling to win in front of ten thousand fans.

ITO: Are you looking to sign quickly and get your professional career started right away?

Wooten: Whatever happens happens. I just living in the moment now and enjoying it right now.

ITO: What do you think you will bring to the Orioles organization?

Wooten: Hopefully, hard work and work my way up and get up there and give them everything. They took and chance on me and I want to give them everything I've got.
