A power pitcher. That pretty much sums up Bobby Bundy. Bundy throws his fastball in the low to mid 90's. He has hit triple digits with his heater from time to time. Throws his changeup in the low 80's and his curve in the mid to upper 70's. Suffered and ACL injury in high school which caused some concern during the draft. The Orioles felt good enough about him though to chose him in the 8th round. Since he is fully recovered this season, it looks like he is breaking out and establishing himself as one of the top prospects in the Orioles system. Significantly, he seems to be finding the strike zone more often as his BB/9 ratio is heading in the right direction so far this season. In fact, he has moved this number below 2 per 9, down from his earlier average of 3 walks per 9 innings. He is also striking out almost a batter an inning, again, an improved number. Looks like he could be a solid #2 starter.

Bobby Bundy is pitching right were his age indicates he should be, at age 21 he is at Hi A ball. Next year he should move up to Bowie. If he continues to develop his pitches, he could be in range of Camden Yards by 2014 or 2015. Bundy is already filled out, so any progression he makes will be with his command. Quite possibly, he and his younger brother Dylan could be mainstays in the Orioles rotation in the later part of this decade.
