Tigres del Licey right fielder Engel Beltre broke out of his slump by hitting a two-run home run in the fourth inning on Monday night. Overall, Beltre was 1-for-4 with that home run––his first of the Dominican Winter League campaign––a hit-by pitch, and a pair of strikeouts.
Centerfielder Leonys Martin, who batted fifth for the Tigres, singled once and walked once in five plate appearances. He also struck out twice.
Jurickson Profar appeared as a ninth-inning pinch-runner and scored a run. He didn't have a plate appearance.
Gigantes del Cibao shortstop Leury Garcia had one single in four trips, lowering his batting average slightly to .304.

Although he didn't have a hit, Tiburones right fielder Jhonny Gomez scored three runs in his club's 14-2 victory over the Navegantes. Gomez was 0-for-3 with a pair of walks before leaving the game early.
Meanwhile, Navegantes centerfielder Eduard Pinto was 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base. He also left the blowout game early.
La Guaira right-hander Arlett Mavare got the start for his club and worked a season-high six innings while suffering the defeat. Mavare yielded four runs on six hits while walking two and striking out four.
Sinkerballing righty Randol Rojas appeared in the same game for Magallanes and hurled a scoreless ninth inning, working around a hit.
Caimanes leadoff hitter and centerfielder Diego Cedeno went without a hit in five at-bats.
