Born in Texas, Cantu moved to Mexico at one week old and is a citizen of both countries. He represented Mexico in the World Baseball Classic in both 2006 and 2009, hitting .333 (8-for-24) with two home runs and eight RBI over six games in 2006 and .360 (9-for-25) with two home runs and six RBI over six games in 2009.
Greg Burke, 28, spent the entire 2010 season with Triple-A Portland, going 2-2 with a 5.68 ERA (37 ER/58.2 IP) and 46 strikeouts against 21 walks over 53 appearances. The right-hander made his Major League debut in 2009 for the Padres and went 3-3 with a 4.14 ERA (21 ER/45.2 IP) and 33 strikeouts against 23 walks over 48 appearances that season. Originally signed by the Padres as a non-drafted free agent in 2006, Burke has gone 19-19 with a 4.06 ERA (178 ER/394.2 IP) and 315 strikeouts against 89 walks in 212 appearances (27 starts) over parts of five minor league seasons in the Padres organization.
