OUCH!! The Bees scored 15 runs (8 ER), through the first 4 innings in route to a massive, rain shortened blowout of the Padres. 4-15 in 5 innings.
Will Inman got the start and was horrendous. 3 IP 10 H, 13 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 5 K. nothing was working for Will and the day didnt get much better. Flores came in and was unimpressive. Lets just say it was a bad day for the Padres pitching.
AA San Antonio had the day off
Lake Elsinore won big 11-4
The Storm scored 10 times between the 5th and 7th innings to turn a 1-1 tie into a 11-3 massacre. The Storm would give up another run and win 11-4 Jose De Paula was solid in his second start of the year. He went 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K for the Storm. He was constantly pitching ahead in the count, and had twice as many ground outs (8) to fly outs (4)
Jonathon Galvez continued his tear going 3-3, 2B, HR (1), 2 RS, 3 RBI, 2 BB, SB (3). Galvez has now reached base safely 13 times in the last 5 games. Jed Gyorko also went 2-4, belting his first HR adding 2 RS, RBI, and a walk to his line. Rincon, Freiman, and Fuentes all had multi hit games for the Storm
Fort Wayne held on for a 3-2 win
Keyvius Sampson had a bad outing. Well bad in the sense that he allowed 3 base runners in 5 innings and ONLY struck out 9. Sampson once again had everything working, and constantly had hitters off balance and fighting for their life. Carvajal got into trouble in the 8th allowing 2 unearned runs, but Adam Dominick was there to shut the door striking out the final battle in the 8th and striking out the side in the 9th. Tin Caps hold on for a 3-2 win
Jake Blackwood led the charge for Tate and Williams less offense. Blackwood had a 2 hits including a 2B, RS and RBI. The biggest problem for the Tin Caps offense was actually 2 CS (Bisson and Cunningham) a pick off (Dore), and 2 GIDP (Bisson and Dore). Ouch. But Sampson got the win so all is good.
