Minor League Recap April 24th

Only 2 games today. Both games started off great before seeing the pitching tr to throw the game.

AAA Tuscon

Padres score 6 runs in the first 4 innings then have to hold on as a bullpen collapse ends in a much to close 7-5 final

Jon Leicester got the start for the Padres and was excellent. In 5 innings he gave up 0 runs, 3 hits, 1 BB, and 4 K. Poreda came in next, and after all the love ive been giving him recently for finding the strike zone goes up in smoke. In 1 inning Poreda gave up 2 ER, 1 H, and 3 BB. Burke and Munter came on and were both horrible before Perdomo was able to put out the fire. Perdomo allowed the first 2 runners on in the 9th but held on for his first save of the year,

The Padres won despite only getting 6 hits. It helps when one of those hits is a bases loaded double by Guzman that cleared the bases. Rizzo went 1-4 (infield single), RS, 2 K. Forsythe went 0-2, 3 BB, RS, K. The Padres hit an awesome 2-12 with RISP

AA San Antonio

Once again the game started with a bang. After the Missions batted in the 3rd it was a 5-0 game with Kelly on the mound. Kelly proceeded to struggle once he was given the lead, and the offense responded by hiding back in their shell. Luckily the pen was able to pitch 4 scoreless innings and the Missions won 6-5

Casey Kelly got the start and was looking for his first win as a Mission (he got it). After breezing threw the lineup the first go around, Kelly was barely hanging on in the 2nd go around. They left Kelly go out there for the 6th, and proceeded to give up a single, BB, BB before being removed. On the day Kelly went 5 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. Vincent came on and immediately gave up a 2 RBI single but would then settle down and retire the next 6 batters. Brach earned his 5th save of the year with a scoreless 9th

The first inning started off with a Robertson 3B and a Decker HR giving the Storm a 2-0 lead before fans were even sitting down. Sadly that was the only hit Jaff would get going 1-4, HR (7), 2 RBI, BB, 3 K. He has struck out 8x in the last 3 games, which is absurdly high for him. James Darnell went 1-3, RS, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 BB. Tekotte hit his 5th HR and stole his 5th base. Overall he went 2-3, HR (5), 2 RS, RBI, 2 BB, SB (5).
