Biddle lone Phillie on Top 100

Jesse Biddle, the top prospect in the Phillies organization, is also the only Phillies prospect to crack the list of the Top 100 Prospects in baseball as ranked by

It's looking like 2013 could be a big season for young left-hander Jesse Biddle. Not only was he chosen as the top prospect in the Phillies organization by Philly Baseball Insider, but he was also tabbed as the 88th best prospect in all of baseball by

The Phillies chose Biddle with the 27th overall pick in the 2010 Draft out of Germantown Friends High School in their own backyard. The 21-year old was born and raised in Philadelphia and grew up dreaming of pitching for the Phillies.

Since signing with the Phillies, Biddle has moved up one level per season and is in line for a promotion to Double-A Reading for 2013. Most scouts believe Double-A is the true proving ground for most prospects and Biddle will come in with high credentials.

In his pro career, Biddle is 21-15 with a 3.21 ERA in 63 minor league games. The only game that Biddle didn't start in his minor league career came on July 4, 2011 when Brad Lidge made a rehab appearance with Lakewood and was technically the starting pitcher. Biddle picked up for Lidge in the second inning and threw four innings, allowing just one earned run.

The list ranks Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy as the top prospect in all of baseball. Bundy, 20, made his pro debut last season after being taken by Baltimore with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 Draft. He pitched at three different levels last season, reaching as high as Double-A Bowie, where he made three starts. Overall, Bundy made 23 starts last season and was 9-3 with a 2.08 ERA.

The top position player on the Top 100 is Rangers' shortstop Jurickson Profar, who ranks second overall. Profar was signed by Texas as an international free agent and made his pro debut in 2010. In three minor league seasons, Profar has a line of 30-150-.276/.367/.450 and has stolen 47 bases in 63 attempts.
